Helldivers 2’s newest patch brings nerfs, buffs, meteor showers, firestorms, and more to the game

New features, foundations for future updates, and a variety of bug fixes and weapon balancing have arrived in Helldivers 2 through a new patch.

The most recent patch for Helldivers 2 has just been released on PS5 and Steam, and while some of the fan-favorite weapons did in fact get nerfed, that’s not the only thing that is about to make fighting for democracy harder than it used to.

Patch 01.000.100 for Helldivers 2 brings a variety of planetary hazards that will change the way players fight in the various fronts, as now you could suddenly find yourself trapped in the middle of a meteor storm, running away from a fiery tornado that threatens to incinerate everything in its path, and other dangerous surprises that will turn any planet’s surface even more chaotic.

You can find the full patch notes below, or on the game’s Steam Store page, but in short, the developers at Arrowhead have thrown in a variety of changes that go from making certain objectives a bit more challenging, to weapon balancing that slightly nerfs the overpowered-ness of the Breaker, the Railgun, and a couple stratagems. But not all is lost, as other weapons in the arsenal have been made stronger, and its only a matter of time before the long awaited EXO-45 Patriot Exosuits are deployed for active combat.
