Hideo Kojima is confused by ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ and reveals Marvel’s big problem
Kojima confesses not having seen ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, the key to understanding the new movie with Sam Wilson as the new Cap.

One of X’s most popular movie critics is none other than Hideo Kojima. The creator of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding has made ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ the latest Marvel Studios movie, and he doesn’t seem to have been very pleased. In fact, he came away confused.
That doesn’t mean he didn’t like it, and when a movie leaves a bad taste in Kojima’s mouth, it shows. How can we forget the short “I saw ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ in IMAX,” with which he made it clear that he didn’t have much to say, or at least nothing good. However, he did comment extensively on the latest Captain America movie, this time in the skin of Anthony Mackie/Sam Wilson.
“I watched ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ in IMAX,” the Japanese creative begins. “I vaguely remember Sam receiving the shield in ‘Endgame,’ but when did he officially become Cap? Is it because I haven’t seen ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’? And what’s this about the Avengers being reorganized? I’m also getting it mixed up with the ‘Thunderbolts’ trailer.”
Meanwhile, despite mixed reviews, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is outperforming expectations at the box office, reaching $300 million in its first two weeks of release.
The change in strategy of Marvel Studios
This only shows that the change that Kevin Feige and company want to carry out makes sense, and Marvel Studios assured that they will focus more on series that work on their own, with multiple seasons, with ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ being the best example. On the other hand, they will abandon those that have only one season, but are somehow linked to a movie, such as the aforementioned ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’.
