Hideo Kojima reveals how and where he wants to die: “I want to die in...”
The eccentric Japanese creative never disappoints.
Hideo Kojima is, along with Yoko Taro, one of the most charismatic and eccentric video game developers ever seen. Because, in addition to how unique his works are (Metal Gear Solid, Death Stranding, P.T…), when they speak, they never leave anyone indifferent thanks to their jokes and witty remarks. Some time ago, the Japanese developer stated that he intends to keep making new games even after his death, and now, thanks to a translation by Genki_JPN, we know how and where he wants to die.
Kojima wants to die in the movies
The Japanese director is an avid movie buff; he has already remarked that his body is made up of “70%” movies, and for that very reason, he has a clear vision of what his ideal death would be like: “I’m someone who’s always thought when I die, I want to die in a movie theater. I like the time before the movie starts the best. Enter the movie theater, the lights turn off, the commercials and trailers play, then just before the movie starts is when I want to pass away.”
Time will tell if his wish comes true. We certainly hope, though, that it will be many, many years before that happens.
OD and Physint, Kojima’s new games

Hideo Kojima is currently working on two new projects. One is OD, a first-person horror game reminiscent of P.T., with a trailer that’s truly spine-chilling. The other is called Physint and is a sort of successor to Metal Gear Solid that appears to be very, very ambitious. Neither has a confirmed release window, but all signs point to them taking years to arrive.
