FromSoftware

Hidetaka Miyazaki (From Software) reveals his favorite game, and it's not Elden Ring

The successful Japanese creative has two GOTY awards on his shelf, and now he triumphs again with Shadow of the Erdtree.

Update:
Hidetaka Miyazaki

He created Demon’s Souls, a PS3 exclusive that kicked off the Dark Souls trilogy. He then changed tack with Bloodborne and a Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice that saw him win the 2019 GOTY. After that, it was three years before Elden Ring, one of the most successful and acclaimed video games in history. Of course, it went on to win the GOTY 2022. The figure behind all these works is Hidetaka Miyazaki, who has revealed the games he likes best among all those he has worked on.

Hidetaka Miyazaki’s favorite games are... Dark Souls and Bloodborne! They are the ones that impressed him the most when he was working on them. He explained this in an interview with CNET. The Japanese assures that he remembers both titles with great affection, since the first Dark Souls is the origin of the phenomenon and Bloodborne conquered millions of players with a different proposal and that unmistakable lovecraftian theme.

He also mentioned Elden Ring, a game that he said put FromSoftware in a higher league. In fact, he believes the hit action-RPG is a milestone for the Japanese company.
