HONOR at MWC 2026: from conventional smartphones to the first phone with a robot soul
The technology firm surprises at MWC 2026 with the Robot Phone, the foldable Magic V6, and an ambitious commitment to embodied artificial intelligence.

The Mobile World Congress 2026 was the venue chosen by HONOR to demonstrate that artificial intelligence not only lives in software, but also has a physical form. Under its new strategy called ALPHA PLAN, the brand has presented a roadmap that seeks to merge the power of silicon with the versatility of robotics to make everyday life easier for its users.

What exactly is a “Robot Phone” and how does it change the way we use our smartphones?
The star of the event was the Robot Phone, a category of device that breaks with the idea of the static phone. Unlike current devices, this terminal has movement capabilities thanks to a system of micromotors and an integrated three-axis gimbal.
This translates into practical benefits: the phone can automatically follow you during a video call or adjust its angle to capture cinematic photos and videos without the need for an external tripod. In addition, it has “multimodal perception” that allows it to react to sounds and movements, achieving a much more natural and human interaction than that of a simple voice assistant.

What’s new in the world of foldables?
If the Robot Phone is the future, the HONOR Magic V6 is the brand’s present in terms of mobile engineering. This smartphone stands out for its extreme thinness, measuring just 8.75 mm thick when closed, and its enhanced durability with IP68 and IP69 certifications against water and dust.
- Long battery life: It incorporates fifth-generation silicon-carbon technology with a capacity of 6660 mAh, allowing for intensive use throughout the day without sacrificing the ultra-slim design.
- High-end displays: It features LTPO panels with up to 6000 nits of brightness, ensuring perfect visibility even in direct sunlight.
- Extreme performance: It is the first foldable equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, optimized for heavy tasks and next-generation video games.

How does all this connect with the brand’s new ecosystem?
HONOR’s vision doesn’t stop at phones. The company also introduced the MagicPad 4, a tablet just 4.8 mm thick with a 165Hz display, and the MagicBook Pro 14, designed for creators seeking portability and power with Intel Core Ultra processors.
The brand even took a step toward consumer robotics by introducing its first humanoid robot. This assistant is designed for companionship and support tasks at home or work, integrating with other devices to recognize the user’s needs from the outset. With this rollout, HONOR makes it clear that its goal is to create a “silicon-carbon civilization” where technology is an active companion and not just a tool.
