‘House of the Dragon’ delivers the moment fans have been waiting for in episode 6
The most celebrated tragic moment since ‘Game of Thrones’.
Most television series evoke a range of emotions in viewers that make us connect more with some characters than others, and can even lead us to dislike certain ones. ‘House of the Dragon’ is one of those shows capable of amplifying that feeling, and one of the most reviled characters over the years has been Ser Criston Cole. He was a character who underwent significant development over the course of the episodes until, finally, in the sixth episode of the third season, his story came to an end—much to the delight of the vast majority of viewers.

His death comes as no surprise to readers of ‘Fire & Blood,’ the book by George R.R. Martin on which the series is based, but it may take many viewers by surprise, since there’s still one season left before ‘House of the Dragon’ ends. Especially given the way it happens: a hypocritical character who became morally corrupt as the story unfolded and who meets an end that many are delighted with.
