‘House of the Dragon’ reveals on what season the show will end and when filming on S3 begins

HBO has revealed their plans for how many seasons they want for ‘House of the Dragon’ to fully adapt ‘Fire and Blood’.

Fans of the ‘Game of Thrones’ universe can now get an idea of what will await them in ‘House of the Dragon’ in the coming years. HBO has confirmed that the series will take four seasons to adapt ‘Fire and Blood’, that is, there are only two more left before we see its conclusion. After the epic closing of the second season on August 5, the producer makes it clear to what extent they want to continue stretching the Targaryen drama.

When will the third season of ‘House of the Dragon’ arrive?

Ryan Condal, showrunner and co-creator of the series, explained to Variety that the team is already immersed in preparations for the third season. The script is currently being written and will continue to be worked on until this fall. The Holidays will cause it to enter production at the beginning of 2025, so we will probably not see its premiere until the end of the same year or 2026.

Condal promises that the narrative perspective “will be the same as in the second season”, which opens the door for the third season to be condensed into the same number of episodes: 8. Be that as it may, the number of chapters is not something written in stone. Depending on the creative needs of the production company, the series will take one path or another.

It is clear that HBO’s schedule with ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ is as follows: ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, scheduled to premiere in 2025, will fill the gap left by ‘The House of the Dragon’ between the two remaining seasons. Dunk and Egg’s adventure will take three seasons to tell, one for each book. With the number of projects that George R.R. Martin confirmed to be underway, it is clear that we will have ‘Game of Thrones’ for a while.
