'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Has the Most Evil Character in the 'Game of Thrones' Universe
Aemond Targaryen, who will be actively participating in The Dance of the Dragons, is one of the cruelest characters in the Seven Kingdoms.
Something is not working in the head of Aemond Targaryen, one of the sons of King Viserys and Queen Alicenty, Prince of the Seven Kingdoms and an interested party and participant in the conflict of succession that is developing throughout the series “House of the Dragon”. The character, who appeared in the last episodes of the first season, demonstrated his cruelty from the first moment, but everything indicates that his character will not be softened in the new episodes, quite the contrary. Ewan Mitchell, the actor who plays him, described him in an interview with Total Film:
“I don’t think we’ve seen anyone as insidious as Aemond in Westeros,” he has declared. “He’s going to play you like a violin, and you’re either with him or against him. You can either be on Rhaenyra’s side or you can stay in one piece.” A character who operates in the realm of absolutes and does not know the meaning of the word mercy. An eye for an eye, literally, is the modus operandi that moves him throughout the story, which will be even more severe in the second season. The Game of Thrones spin-off will tell the story of the Dance of the Dragons, a conflict of succession that finally explodes at the end of the first season.
Aemond and the spark that ignites the Dance of the Dragons
Aemond wants Rhaenyra Targaryen’s son to pay for the eye he lost in a fight between Jacaerys and Lucerys. So he pursues Lucerys and demands one of her eyes to settle the debt. As you might expect, his half-brother is not about to be left with an empty socket, so he goes about his business, rallying support for his mother’s cause and the succession. Unfortunately, Aemond pursues him on the back of his dragon, Vhagar, a monstrous and deadly beast. Out of control, the reptile disobeys its rider and attacks Lucerys, who rides Arrax. The dragon of Rhaenyra’s offspring is no match for Vhagar, who rips it apart in a matter of milliseconds. As a result, dragon and rider fall and die instantly.
The final shot of ‘House of the Dragon’ is a scene in which Rhaenyra turns around. She has just learned of her son’s death and her expression is one of fire and blood. It will air on Max on June 17 when the second season begins.
