‘House of the Dragon’: These are all the characters returning for Season 2
The first spin-off of ‘Game of Thrones’ will premiere the new episodes starting next June 16 on Max.
More than 15 characters from the first season of “House of the Dragon” will be seen in the second season of the series, which is quite meritorious considering the bloodbath that took place before the eruption of the Dance of the Dragons. The royals of Westeros are on the warpath and the reptilian throat is preparing its deadly fire, Targaryen against Targaryen, dragon against dragon. From the fire, ashes, from the ashes, a subjugated and suffocated kingdom awaits the victor of the contest.
As expected, “House of the Dragon” completes its cast of protagonists with new faces, as many perished in the previous season. Some in battle, others through betrayal, and the rest through the inexorable march of time or illness. After years of reigning, King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) has died, leaving behind an intractable succession conflict that is being resolved with words and diplomacy. In the final chapter, Lucerys, the son of Rhaenyra Targaryen, is murdered by Aemond Targaryen (Elliot Grihault). After that, there is no turning back from the conflict.
There are two actresses who will not be returning due to script issues. Barring an unexpected flashback, the young versions of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, played by Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, will not appear in the new episodes.
