How long is ‘Dragon Age: The Veilguard’? Are its levels open world?

Bioware’s comeback title, ‘Dragon Age: The Veilguard’, promises to keep players occupied for a good handful of hours.

It’s been almost ten years since we last visited the Dragon Age universe. The new chapter of the saga has been a long time coming, and it’s been BioWare’s big bet to return to the forefront of the industry after Anthem failed catastrophically, shaking the foundations of the studio. Thankfully, Dragon Age: The Veilguard makes it clear that the fantasy adventure returns players to the world they know, although with some important changes compared to the previous games.

How long is Dragon Age: The Veilguard?

According to reviews, the game takes between 50 to 60 hours to complete. It all depends on how you play, naturally. You can expect that duration range on normal difficulty, soaking up the lore and doing most of the secondary quests.

How does the open world of Dragon Age: The Veilguard work? Is it similar to Inquisition?

It is worth remembering that Dragon Age Inquisition opted for standalone free exploration zones. The group had to set up camps on each map while dealing with the main objectives and all the secondary content, such as breaches, dragons, and the usual optional tasks.

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard things change quite a bit. The open zones are smaller and have much more condensed content. In our review we say that the game “does not bet on filler areas.” “It gets to the point and that is also reflected in a visual section in which it does not take its foot off the accelerator at any time. It is an ornate, varied, detailed world that, in general, is a pleasure to explore, although at times a certain corridor air assails us.” It is alluded to that in many moments the game is like a roller coaster that takes you by the hand through levels from point to point.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is releasing on October 31 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
