Marvel Rivals: How to register and play ahead of time by testing its alpha version

Marvel Rivals is getting a Closed Alpha Test very soon, and players interested in taking part in it can already sign up for a chance to get in. This is how.

Update:
Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals, a new 6v6 team-based hero shooter that takes characters from the Marvel multiverse and pitches them together in heated third-person battles, is releasing this very year, so the developers at NetEase Games will be performing a Closed Alpha next month to get ready for release. And you can sign up for a chance to participate in it.

While we still don’t have an official date for the start of the Marvel Rivals Closed Alpha Test, as the studio hasn’t announced it yet, we do know that it’s set to happen in May 2024. As such, registration for the game has only just begun, and it’d be safe to believe that there will be a limited amount of slots available for players to join this Alpha. Signing up is easy, you just have to follow a few easy steps.

How to register for the Marvel Rivals Closed Alpha Test

While the game is currently listed on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and you’re able to wishlist the game on said services, no option to automatically sign up to the Alpha has been made available at the time of writing. As such, there is only one way to register for this testing phase:

  • Go to the official Marvel Rivals website
  • Click on the “Sign up for Playtest” button
  • Fill out the registration form. It’ll ask for your email, region, and gaming preferences and experience, as well as for information regarding your PC’s hardware specs.

That’s it! As soon as you finish the form you’ll be signed up, and with some luck you may be chosen to take part in the upcoming playtest. Remember that as of this moment the game has only been confirmed for release on PC, with no hints about it coming to consoles.

What to expect from the Closed Alpha?

No details have been revealed yet about what kind of content will be available during the Closed Alpha, but we could expect players to be able to test at least one of the maps that’ll be available at launch, as well as a variety of characters from the full roster. You can find every character that’s been confirmed to be in the game below:

  • Black Panther
  • Bruce Banner (Hulk)
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Doctor Strange
  • Groot
  • Iron Man
  • Loki

  • Magik
