Hudson Meek, actor in ‘Baby Driver’, Edgar Wright’s masterpiece, dies at the age of 16
The young actor died after falling out of a moving vehicle.
Hollywood continues to suffer hard blows just days before the end of 2024, when we said goodbye forever to many actors, such as the mythical face behind Apollo Creed in ‘Rocky’. The latest to join this sad list is Hudson Meek. The 16-year-old actor died after falling from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. The accident happened on December 19 last year. He arrived at the hospital alive and was treated until two days later, when he finally succumbed to his injuries.
“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight,” begins the statement shared on his Instagram account. “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.” Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
Beyond Baby Driver: Hudson Meek’s Life in Film and Television
His career got off to a strong start with his performance in ‘Baby Driver’, the masterpiece from director Edgar Wright (‘Hot Fuzz’, ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’, ‘Last Night in Soho’). The movie is considered to be one of the best action movies of the last years. Meek played the child version of the protagonist Baby. That was in 2017. One year later he appeared in a supporting role in ‘Union’, his last film work for a long time.
From 2018, he dedicated himself entirely to sporadic work in television, such as ‘Badanamu Stories’ (2020-2021), ‘Legacies’ (2022), ‘Found’ (2023) and ‘Genius’ (2024). Just this year he returned to feature films with his latest work ‘The School Duel’. Unfortunately, we will never see him on the big screen again.
