‘Ice Age: Boiling Point’ debuts first teaser, sets February 2027 theatrical release
Manny, Sid, Diego, and company reunite for the franchise’s first theatrical film since 2016.
The wait is over. ‘Ice Age: Boiling Point’ has released its first official teaser, confirming the return of the long-running animated franchise to theaters in February 2027. The new installment, produced by Disney and 20th Century Animation, brings back the core group of characters led by Manny, Sid, and Diego, alongside Ellie, Buck, and Scrat. The teaser, which can be viewed below, offers the first look at the film’s setting and tone, signaling a larger-scale adventure than previous entries.
Volcanoes, dinosaurs, and a new setting
According to information shared by Disney, ‘Ice Age: Boiling Point’ will take its protagonists to unexplored areas of the so-called Lost World. The story places the herd in an environment shaped by volcanic activity, unstable terrain, and prehistoric creatures, including dinosaurs. As its title suggests, the film leans heavily into natural threats such as lava flows and large-scale disasters, elements that are already prominent in the trailer’s visuals.
The trailer also confirms the return of much of the original cast. Ray Romano reprises his role as Manny, with John Leguizamo back as Sid and Denis Leary once again voicing Diego. Queen Latifah returns as Ellie, while Simon Pegg reprises his role as Buck.
This marks the first theatrical Ice Age film since ‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ in 2016. The involvement of the original cast has been one of the most closely watched aspects of the project, particularly after the franchise’s long absence from cinemas.
