If you want to play with discs and stand your PS5 Pro, the price goes through the roof

Lovers of physical format video games will have to pay extra.

PS5 Pro is official. Sony has announced the new version of PlayStation 5, a much more powerful model than the original launched in 2020 and one of the elements that have attracted the most attention is its price: $699.99. A high figure, especially when you consider that it is a digital model that does not include a disc reader as standard, so it is only compatible with games in physical format by purchasing a disc drive separately. In addition, it does not come with an upright stand, so the console will have to be placed lying down unless you decide to buy one.

  • Disk drive (reader for physical format games): $79.99 - Buy
  • Vertical stand (stand to place the console upright) $29.99 - Buy

If you add these two accessories, both available on the official PlayStation website, to the purchase of a PS5 Pro, the total would be $809.97, plus tax.
