Inside Out 2′ is the latest release from Pixar and Disney, a sequel that is making waves worldwide and has become the highest-grossing release of 2024, surpassing films like ‘Dune: Part Two’.

Deadline highlights that as of Friday, ‘Inside Out 2′ has grossed a total of $429 million in the United States and $473.9 million internationally, for a total of $902.9 million. It has currently managed to gross $1.014 billion, a figure not reached by any movie since “Barbie” in 2023. It has also managed to attract 14% of its audience from the 13-17 age group, considered one of the most difficult to attract to the cinema in recent times.

‘Inside Out 2′ continues Pixar’s runaway success

The sequel to Pixar’s blockbuster continues to make history, scoring the biggest second weekend ever for an animated film at the box office, and the seventh biggest ever for a film. Behind? Only big franchises like Star Wars, Jurassic World and Marvel. In two weeks, it has managed to earn even more than ‘Barbie’, which earned $93 million in its second weekend at the box office.

What is Inside Out 2′ about? The movie’s synopsis is as follows: “Riley turns 13 and Headquarters undergoes a sudden demolition to make room for new emotions, something Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust weren’t prepared for. The first new emotion they meet is Anxiety, who carries a lot of emotional baggage — literally. Joy and the gang aren’t sure how to feel about Anxiety joining the crew, but they can’t possibly imagine a full house with the other new emotions, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Envy.”
