Instead of GTA VI, Rockstar tweeted about a movie. Who is Danny Dyer and what’s his connection to the games?
Rockstar’s recent post about Marching Powder has left fans puzzled, but the studio’s connection to Danny Dyer goes back further than you might think.

Surely there are some fans who are confused as to why Rockstar Games would post about a movie. Not to repeat, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen anything from GTA VI. Yesterday, the Rockstar Games account on X (formerly Twitter), instead of giving us a new look at this game, dedicated a post to a movie called Marching Powder, starring Danny Dyer. But what is the connection between this studio and the actor?
From our friends Nick Love and Danny Dyer, the absolute legends behind The Football Factory...@MarchingPowder_ — a proper naughty comedy out tomorrow in the UK and Ireland.

Who is Danny Dyer and what is his connection to Rockstar Games?
Born Danial John Dyer, Danny Dyer is a British actor known for his distinctive East London accent and tough-guy roles. With a career spanning over three decades, he has built a reputation for portraying gritty, working-class characters in films and television shows, making him a recognized figure in the British entertainment industry.
But what is Dyer’s connection to Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto franchise? If you’re a long-time fan of the franchise, you may remember Kent Paul, the fast-talking manager of the Scottish rock band Love Fist in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Dyer provided the voice for the character. Vice City was not his only appearance in the franchise, as he reprised the role in GTA: San Andreas, where Kent was the manager of a new band, the Gurning Chimps, and later worked as a producer for rapper Madd Dogg.

Dyer’s association with Rockstar goes beyond voice acting. In 2004, he starred in 'The Football Factory', a British film about football hooliganism. The film was directed by Nick Love and surprisingly produced by Rockstar Games, one of the few times the company ventured into film production.
