iPhone 17 Pro design leaks: its camera bar is as revolutionary as it is useless
The bar that had been rumored remains, but the camera is still concentrated on the left side and only moves the flash, the micro and the LiDAR sensor.

Although we are still half a year away from the famous September keynote (the event where Apple usually presents all its new products), we already have one of the big announcements of the same. It is the design of the new iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Jon Prosser, who has already leaked the new Camera app that will come with iOS 19, has now shown how the device will be and the huge facelift of its back. “It’s like finally this year’s iPhone lineup will not look like last year’s iPhone lineup”.
Although it was rumored that the back of the phone would have two shades and a horizontal bar for the three cameras, Prosser assures that this is impossible. The architecture of the phone prevents it, and the components only leave room for the cameras on the top left, as they are now. And it’s going to stay that way. The iPhone 17 will have the blissful bar so fashionable today (in the POCO, for example), but not for the cameras, but for the flash, the micro and the LiDAR sensor. It won’t be two-tone either, but since the bar is so big, it will look like it.
“This change seems so odd and impractical. It just seems like change for the sake of it. It’s not offering any more utility, it’s just making it look different. Lately, it seems to me that Apple has somewhat become less influential and instead more so influenced,” Prosser concludes. The journalist seems more excited about iOS 19 and the possibility that this year there will be an iPhone 17 Air in the manner of the iPad, but does not yet confirm the news.
