iRacing has secured NASCAR’s console video game license from Motorsport Games, marking the most significant development in the world of NASCAR gaming in nearly a decade. The highly anticipated agreement, specifically tailored for simulation-style console racing games, is set to be officially announced today, following weeks of meticulous negotiations between NASCAR Team Properties, iRacing, and Motorsport Games. Under the terms of the deal, 704Games, a subsidiary of Motorsport Games, will transfer the coveted license to iRacing, heralding a new era in NASCAR gaming.

When will a new NASCAR title be released?

The highlight of this monumental deal is iRacing’s commitment to release a brand-new NASCAR console video game in 2025. John Henry, owner of Fenway Sports Group and iRacing, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We see this as an opportunity to redefine the NASCAR gaming experience and bring fans a title that lives up to their expectations.”

This transfer of the license comes after years of frustration for NASCAR fans who felt that previous releases by 704Games and Motorsport Games consistently fell short in terms of graphics and gameplay. Negative reviews became an unfortunate annual ritual, leaving fans yearning for a game that truly captured the essence of NASCAR racing. With iRacing being known for its high-quality racing simulator products, this deal represents a fresh start and a chance to prove themselves in the console gaming space.

iRacing’s President, Tony Gardner, expressed his excitement, saying, “This is an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.” While the company’s primary revenue source has been subscriptions to its simulator racing platform, this venture into console gaming is a testament to its commitment to delivering an immersive NASCAR gaming experience.
