Is the Elden Ring DLC releasing on PS4 and Xbox One? Everything we know so far

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has revealed on what platforms it’ll be available when the DLC launches on June 21, 2024.

The first gameplay trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has been one of the biggest news so far in 2024. From Software and Bandai Namco’s masterpiece will allow us to travel to a land shrouded in the shadow of the Golden Tree, with a new Demigod presumably born of Marika, Messmer the Impaler, standing in the path of the Tarnished and Miquella.

But after the expansion’s gameplay was revealed, some confusion about which platforms it would be available appeared. Here is everything we know about it so far.

What platforms will the Elden Ring DLC be available on?

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will go on sale on June 21, 2024. The game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Yes, players on the previous generation of consoles will be able to enjoy the upcoming content for the RPG directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The confusion has been centered mainly around the PS4 version, since at the time of writing these lines it still does not have open pre-orders for the DLC on said platform.

In any case, it must be an error that Bandai Namco should correct as we get closer to its launch. The PS5 version in digital format can be reserved at a recommended price of $39.99 ($49.99 in its deluxe version). In fact, the Shadow of the Erdtree edition, which acts as a compilation of both the base game and the expansion, includes the PS4 version of both contents.

Regarding physical copies of the same compilation, the publisher is much clearer. In a press release they point out that Shadow of the Erdtree is included in a redeemable code in the PS Store or Xbox Live, depending on the version you choose, and that said code will also give access to the PS4 and Xbox One versions; The base game comes on disc. This edition will only be sold in physical format for the current generation versions, that is, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
