It’s not hackers: This is the exploit in CoD Black Ops 6 to get under the map that’s going to be fixed

An exploit that might have been bothering many players sees players shooting at unsuspecting targets through the floor. But it’s not hacking, and it’s already been fixed.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 - revelación exclusiva

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was released this past weekend on October 25, 2024. And while it’s been getting a lot of praise for its campaign, Zombies mode, and the changes made to the multiplayer experience, as with any launch of an online game there have also been plenty of annoyances and problems for players, who haven’t hesitated to take online to air their frustrations. One of these issues saw the quick arrival of hackers to the game, with players complaining they were being killed from out of nowhere. Well, as it turns out, it wasn’t that… exactly.

What actually happened is that some players managed to find ways to get out-of-bounds in a few of the maps available at launch. During the weekend, these players would climb on specific spots around maps like Red Card, Babylon, and Lowtown, managing to get out of the map and still able to shoot inside, protected from view and damage as long as they stayed in a safe spot. Of course, video tutorials on how to do this kind of thing spread online like wildfire:

Thankfully, only a day after release, Treyarch released the first patch for the game. While this included a variety of balances and fixes, it also specifically mentioned the exploits shown above. You can read the complete patch notes through this link. However, there are still many other problems with the game that need to be addressed, but the devs seem intent of releasing fixes to them all as soon as humanly possible.

Is Call of Duty Black Ops 6 worth playing?

Short answer: yeah, we think so. As subjective as this kind of question can be, the newest entry into the Call of Duty franchise developed by Treyarch is an excellent package when compared with previous titles in the same series. The controls are responsive and weighty, and its campaign is being called one of the best in the entire Call of Duty catalog. Aside from that, you get the multiplayer, which while suffering from initial server issues and exploits is still pretty fun, and of course, you get the return of the classic round-based zombies experience. At the very least, we’re having fun.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on a range of platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Battle.net and Steam).
