Jack Quaid (Hughie) shines and reveals how the toughest scene in ‘The Boys’ was filmed

Just like every season of ‘The Boys’ on Prime Video, this fifth and final season is leaving us with plenty of memorable scenes. One of them features Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie, and who surprises viewers with his acting skills in the third episode.

The Most Challenging Scene in ‘The Boys’ for Hughie

In the third episode of the fifth season of ‘The Boys,’ there’s a very special encounter between Hughie and Translucent’s son. The boy, named Maverick, has been led to believe that Homelander killed his father, when in fact it was Hughie who did it back in the first season.

When Maverick discovers the truth, he immediately attacks Hughie using his invisibility power, leading to a fight scene. On set, he’s fighting—obviously and literally—no one. That’s how this hilarious sequence was filmed, with Jack Quaid giving it his all.

Fortunately, Hughie manages to come out of the situation unscathed, though the same can’t be said for Maverick, who ends up torn to pieces after another superhuman intervenes.

In any case, Hughie’s evolution throughout the series is evident, as after his girlfriend’s death in the first episode, he clearly harbors resentment toward the superheroes. However, after meeting Kimiko and especially Annie, his feelings toward them become more understanding, with Butcher becoming the main target of his criticism.
