James Cameron is making sure Avatar 4 and 5 will be made by him at any cost

Filmmaker James Cameron has already finished the scripts for Avatar 4 and 5, and he wants to direct them himself at all costs.

With 69 years behind him and a very extensive filmography, whoever thinks that James Cameron’s strength is running out, couldn’t be more wrong. With the third installment of ‘Avatar’ already on the way, now with the official name ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, the legendary director already has in mind to also start working on the fourth and fifth installments, and has issued a warning to sailors who would be willing to take the helm of both: he will continue to be the captain of the ship.

Despite the rumors that after ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Cameron could pass the torch to another filmmaker, he has made it clear that this is by no means his intention, answering the question if he will be the one behind the cameras of the two following movies.

“Sure. Absolutely. I mean, they’re going to have to stop me,” said Cameron to The Hollywood Reporter. “I got plenty of energy, love doing what I’m doing. Why would I not? And they’re written, by the way. I just reread both of them about a month ago. They’re cracking stories. They’ve got to get made. Look, if I get hit by a bus and I’m in an iron lung, somebody else is going to do it.”

Cameron has no intention of retiring

But he is not only involved in the ‘Avatar’ saga, and Cameron recognized just a few days ago that he is working on a new delivery of ‘Terminator’, of which he has revealed absolutely nothing else. As such, we still don’t know if it will be a spin-off, a continuation of ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’, or a new reboot.
