From foes to friends?

Superman Batman DCU
Update:

James Gunn, the head of the new DC Universe, has finally given us new details on the highly anticipated Superman sequel. Previously, all we knew was that David Corenswet would be reprising his role as the Man of Steel, but now fans can circle a new date on their calendars.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the director revealed that the Superman sequel will be titled ‘Man of Tomorrow’ and will hit theaters on July 9, 2027. The post is accompanied by an illustration by DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee, showing Superman and Lex Luthor in his power suit, standing shoulder to shoulder.

As you can see, this is Luthor’s Anti-Superman suit, complete with Kryptonite, but on the other hand, we see Superman with a screwdriver completely unaffected by the material. Will enemies now become friends in the next movie?

The future of the new DC Universe is slowly coming together

As we wait for the next installment of the DC Universe and beyond, we can currently enjoy Season 2 of Peacemaker, which connects directly to Superman. Next, and already confirmed, we have Supergirl, a movie starring Milly Alcock, which will be released on June 26, 2026. Along with this film, we will also get our first glimpse of Gotham with the upcoming Clayface movie, starring Tom Rhys Harries (The Gentlemen, Operation Kandahar) in the lead role, which will arrive on September 11, 2026. At some point, the Wonder Woman movie will also be coming.
