Jason Momoa switches roles in the new DC Universe and will be the most violent anti-hero in ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

The new DC Universe of James Gunn has recovered one of the most outstanding actors of the previous stage. Jason Momoa returns, not to play Aquaman, but to breathe life into one of the most charismatic and controversial characters in all of DC: Lobo.

Momoa will star as Lobo in ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’, the movie starring Milly Alcock that will be released on June 26, 2026. A movie that will be the second in training of the new DC Universe after the arrival of ‘Superman’ on July 11, 2025.

Lobo, the brutality that will come to the DC Universe

Momoa spoke in 2023 on the Fandango’s Youtube channel and revealed his passion for Lobo: “I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role.’ I mean, listen. If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a f*ck yeah. I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there.” Words that have become reality, a role that the actor has accepted without hesitation and that will bring us to the movies a character of enormous popularity in the 90s, who was the favorite of DC Comics for Stan Lee, and that we will soon see the violence of the Czarnian in theaters.

Actor Jason Momoa returns to DC Studios, this time under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran, the latter of whom is an old acquaintance of the actor’s as he was the producer of the two Aquaman films that grossed a total of $1.6 billion.
