Jason Schreier hints at GTA 6 release date and possible delay
Bloomberg journalist shares a piece of information that could jeopardize GTA 6’s fall 2025 release.
Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are on edge, and not just because of the second trailer that never seems to arrive. No. What is worrying the community is that its current release window will be postponed until 2026. Jason Schreier, a respected journalist from Bloomberg, throws a piece of information that does not bode well for the future, together with the self-censorship that the studio has demanded from the scriptwriters against minority groups.
Delay until 2026 on the table: GTA 6 release still up in the air
The journalist claims that Rockstar Games has missed several deadlines in recent months, but it is “standard practice” in the development of the team. Of course, it is usual, but given the size of the game, perhaps this time the scales will tip in favor of the delay.
Of course, Schreier’s hint clashes with Take-Two’s statements. The publisher remains firm and maintains its commitment to launch in the fall of 2025. That’s the same year that the December 2023 trailer pointed to, and for now, no changes have officially been made.
The journalist claims through sources inside the company that Take-Two executives currently do not put their hand in the fire for it to arrive in the window they offered and that 2026 is on the table. What is clear is that the release date will completely change the calendar of the video game industry, since no title wants to compete on a one-on-one basis with a GTA and even more so after the huge sales of the fifth installment.
