John Cena is ready in Mortal Kombat 1 talking about Peacemaker: how and when to get him
In a behind-the-scenes trailer, John Cena spoke in depth about bringing the character from the DC movies and TV series to the world of videogames
Mortal Kombat 1′s second DLC collaboration is available for everyone today: Peacemaker from The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker Max TV series is joining the battle for Earthrealm and beyond, with John Cena himself lending his voice to the character.
Peacemaker arrived as part of a new DLC pack which will release on February 28 for people who purchased the Premium Edition of the game. Now, on March 6, the character and the DLC pack (including Kameo Fighter Janet Cage) are available for everyone else. It’s time to burst some heads with the unorthodox “superhero” of the DC Universe.
In a special behind the scenes trailer, John Cena himself sat down with NetherRealm Studios to discuss the popularity of the character and his portrayal of the relatively unknown “hero”. It was thanks to his charisma that the character became one of the best parts of The Suicide Squad, and the reason why he got his own TV series continuation. In the trailer, Cena says that he’s humbled and delighted to join the roster of characters from Mortal Kombat, and to be alongside awesome fighters like Scorpion and Sub-Zero.
In the trailer you also get a better look at his range of abilities, most of them making use of the various super-powered helmets from the series, like anti-gravity, sonic-boom, and human torpedo. So far, players have found him to be very well-rounded, and one of the best and most fun characters in the roster so far.
Mortal Kombat 1 is bringing in not-so-nice heroes to the fight
Just a few months ago we saw the release of the first DLC character in Mortal Kombat 1: Omni-Man from Invincible, who became available on November 9, 2023. He and other fighters including Peacemaker (and Kameo Figthers) form part of the Kombat Pack 1 that conforms the first “season” of new content for the Netherrealm fighting game. Below you’ll find the full list of characters to be added as time goes on.
