‘John Wick’ director wants to make a ‘Star Wars’ movie in his style

Chad Stahelski, the man behind the ‘John Wick’ series, has shared his desire to join the ‘Star Wars’ universe as a filmmaker, as well as a certain Marvel franchise.

The millions of ‘Star Wars’ fans around the world are excited about what is to come, with a multitude of productions for the big and small screens. Although most of them already have a team in charge, Disney now has another name to add to the future directors of its next films, since one who has applied is none other than Chad Stahelski, director of ‘John Wick’ in all four of its releases.

“I’m a ‘Star Wars’ guy, like, the first ‘Star Wars’ changed my life,” Stahelski said in an interview. “Maybe someday out there. Disney, if you’re listening, hit me in a couple of years and I have a couple of takes for ‘Star Wars.”

But he sends another tease at Disney, and that is that he wouldn’t be limited only to Star Wars movies and series. “Of all the things out there, I’d take a swing at ‘Blade’ in a second” said Stahelski, and we must remember that the film starring the dhampir does not yet have a director. Affected by the strike of actors and scriptwriters, it only has confirmed its protagonist, which will be no other than Mahershala Ali.

There’s still ‘John Wick’ for a while

But for Stahelski to join ‘Star Wars’ he will first have to finish with ‘John Wick’, something that seems not to happen in the medium term, since in fact the fifth installment is already underway. Not only that, but the director has reiterated on several occasions that he has ideas for a few more films, although the one who doesn’t seem so keen on continuing for much longer is the main man himself, Keanu Reeves.

What’s more, the producer of the franchise Basil Iwanyk said at the time that Reeves wanted Wick dead at the end of ‘John Wick 4′. “After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movie, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally,” said Iwanyk, acknowledging that the production team did not rule out Wick dying at the end of this fourth film... something that as we saw, it ultimately did not happen.
