Johnny Knoxville and his friends are back for one last hurrah in ‘Jackass: Best & Last’
The final farewell for ‘Jackass’ is already underway. Its latest film had a trailer screened behind closed doors at CinemaCon 2026 and promises a farewell that’s as wild as it is nostalgic.
One of the magical and fun things the 2000s brought us was ‘Jackass’. Johnny Knoxville, a founding member of that group of crazy guys, confirmed back in 2025 that a final film was in the works. Now, a lucky few have gotten to see the first trailer for ‘Jackass: Best & Last’ at CinemaCon 2026, and it looks like, despite their age, they won’t stop pulling off completely crazy stunts for the viewers’ enjoyment.
“The trailer had plenty of groans, gasps and even a few tears as Knoxville and the crew put their bodies on the line to say goodbye,” reads the trailer description from Variety. “There was lots of nostalgic archival footage shown of the amateur stuntmen, including the late Ryan Dunn and ex-cast member Bam Margera. Some of the new stunts include Steve-O getting a painful prostate exam from a robot named Larry, Sean ‘Poopies’ McInerney putting a shock collar on his penis and an ‘escape room from hell’ that punishes everyone’s bodies.”
“This is the last ‘Jackass’ film the world will ever see,” Knoxville said as he introduced the film. “‘Jackass’ means a hell of a lot for me. We knew we were making the last one, so we went extra hard to make sure this was also our best ‘Jackass’ film ever.”
What was “Jackass” and where can you watch it?
Before the stunts by MrBeast and other YouTubers, from 2000 to 2001, MTV aired three seasons of a group of crazy guys who pulled off all kinds of wild stunts. Knoxville led the pack—so to speak—and came up with all sorts of dangerous stunts and pranks for characters like Steve-O, Bam Margera, and Chris Pontius—as well as himself—to fall victim to. Although the series was short-lived, that was just the beginning, leading to no fewer than five movies, of which only ‘Jackass: 4.5’ is currently available for streaming, specifically on Netflix.
- ‘Jackass: The Movie’ (2002)
- ‘Jackass Number Two’ (2006)
- ‘Jackass Presents: Mat Hoffman’s Tribute to Evel Knievel’ (2008)
- ‘Jackass 3D’ (2010)
- ‘Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa’ (2013)
- ‘Jackass Forever’ (2022)
The show’s broadcast was controversial because, despite the warning “Don’t try this at home,” quite a few minors ignored it, leading to reports of accidents related to stunts the kids had seen on the program. The pressure MTV faced was so intense that it was first forced to remove the show from its family-friendly time slot and later canceled it permanently, just one year after its premiere.
