Jujutsu Kaisen prepares for season 3 with its author revealing new illustrations of key characters in the anime

Jujutsu Kaisen is gearing up for the premiere of its third season on January 8, 2026. The return of the popular anime adaptation of Gege Akutami’s work will be available to watch on Crunchyroll, and expectations couldn’t be higher, both because of the level of animation that MAPPA studio has accustomed viewers to, and because of the excitement to see what’s next in a story that has already ended in the manga, sequel aside.

In anticipation of what is to come, the author has presented new illustrations featuring characters who will play key roles in this third season. These will be published in Jump GIGA 2026 Winter, the new issue of Shueisha’s quarterly magazine, which will be available on January 5, 2026, and usually features extra material from Jump’s most popular series.

Illustrations that prepare us for the return of ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’

The characters that appear in the publication are key to what is to come, with recurring figures such as Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro, but also Yuta Okkotsu, who looks set to take center stage, as well as Maki Zenin, Choso, and Naoya Zenin, who has everything it takes to stand out and make an impact on viewers as one of the antagonists.
