Karl Urban, known for films like ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’, ‘Doom’, ‘Dredd’ or the reboot of ‘Star Trek, and in recent years part of the superheroic phenomenon of Prime Video’s The Boys’, has celebrated the end of filming for ‘Mortal Kombat 2′, the sequel to the reboot of the cinematic saga based on the popular franchise of video games of the same name in which he will play the charismatic Johnny Cage, one of the most iconic fighters in the series. He did so with a selfie on the filming set, thanking the entire team for their work and showing off the look he sports in the film.

This is Karl Urban’s look as Johnny Cage

As stated by Urban himself, the filming of ‘Mortal Kombat 2′ in charge of New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. has already come to an end, sharing the following words:

“That’s a picture wrap for me & Johnny Cage on Mortal Kombat 2! Massive thanks to our incredible crew, cast and phenomenal stunt team. Hands down the most action packed fun I’ve ever had on a film! Can’t wait for y’all to see it. Special thanks to everyone offset who helped make this time here on the Gold Coast Australia such a pleasure.”

Let us remember that at the end of the first part of the ‘Mortal Kombat’ reboot, there was a reference to Johnny Cage, the famous fighter and action film actor (in universe) who is already a classic of such a brutal and bloody saga of fighting video games. And to bring it to the big screen, we have Karl Urban, an experienced actor who fits the role perfectly and who will undoubtedly give us a thuggish, sarcastic, and brutal Johnny Cage. And we now have a first look at his look in the film.

Mortal Kombat 2′ is now entering the post-production phase, so its official release date in theaters has not yet been confirmed, although it should arrive between the end of this year and mid-2025.
