Kevin Feige Teases X-Men’s Arrival in MCU and Responds to Original Avengers Rumors

The president of Marvel Studios attends the premiere of ‘The Marvels’ and responds to the latest rumors about the MCU and his upcoming projects.

Marvel Studios is going through a controversial period due to the decline in box office and the criticism received by their latest productions, both in film and television, to which we must add the latest news and rumors about the past, present and future of the MCU. So much so that Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has responded to rumors about the return of the original Avengers and has offered some clues about the arrival of the X-Men in his superhero cinematic universe. This was reported by Entertainment Tonight after interviewing Marvel’s chief creative officer at the premiere of ‘The Marvels’ in Las Vegas.

Kevin Feige and the Future of the MCU: Avengers and X-Men

One of the most anticipated superhero groups by fans in the MCU is the X-Men, characters that until recently developed their own saga independently through Fox, but with the purchase of Disney are now part of Marvel Studios. And while we don’t know when we will see the mutants as such in the MCU, Feige assures that we will have news very soon:

“I don’t know if it’s delicate. It’s super exciting. But the X-Men are as solid and rich and great a concept and characters as exist. [There’s] the return of the animated series next year, which we’re very excited about. I saw some new final episodes today which really bring you back to that core of who the X-Men are and that soap opera that those characters represent. And then in live-action, people will see... perhaps, soon.”

Nevertheless, everything seems to indicate that ‘Deadpool 3′ will be directly linked to Fox’s mutant universe, as its Wolverine - played again by Hugh Jackman - will be co-starring alongside the mercenary with a mouth. On the other hand, the president of Marvel Studios has responded directly to the latest rumors about the possible return of the original Avengers to the MCU, led by Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans:

“We’re doing a project with Scarlett. I love Robert, he’s a part of the family, but in terms of returning? We’ll have to see,” Feige said. After the recent disappointing box office results of the MCU, Marvel Studios is planning to bring back the key characters that worked so well years ago.

In that sense, the latest rumors claim that Loki will recruit the original Avengers after gaining the power to travel through time and space across the multiverse, leading to the return of the Avengers in 2012 for ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and opening the door to the ultimate multiversal crossover with ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.
