Kristen Bell to voice Amy Rose in Sonic the Hedgehog 4

The actress joins Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, and Keanu Reeves in the expanding film universe.

Update:

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie universe is growing and filling up with more iconic artists behind its characters. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Kristen Bell is the latest addition to the franchise, set to voice Amy Rose in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie.

The arrival of Amy Rose comes as no surprise, as she had already appeared in one of the scenes at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in a non-speaking role. In this scene, Amy Rose is seen saving Sonic.

A Growing Family of Heroes

Kristen Bell is no stranger to the world of gaming or voice acting. Beyond her blockbuster success in animation, she famously provided the voice and likeness for Lucy Stillman in the early Assassin’s Creed titles. In Sonic 4, she joins a heavyweight cast that includes Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Idris Elba (Knuckles), and Keanu Reeves, who made a splash as Shadow the Hedgehog in the previous film.

While the plot remains under wraps, the introduction of Amy Rose offers a fresh dynamic for the “Team Sonic” family. In the games, Amy is known for her unyielding optimism and her role as the heart of the group, often providing a different perspective to Sonic’s speed-first attitude. This addition will likely enrich the character interactions that fans have come to love, balancing high-speed chases with genuine heart.

The fourth installment of the popular SEGA blue hedgehog film saga will hit theaters around the world in spring 2027.
