Lana Del Rey registers song titled First Light: Does 007: First Light already have a theme?
Nothing is confirmed yet, but the title of her new song is raising eyebrows among Bond fans.
007 First Light, James Bond’s return to video games by IO Interactive, could have its own theme song. And according to fans, singer Lana Del Rey could be the chosen voice.
Through the singer’s subreddit, it was discovered that she registered the song “First Light” with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). Although there is no confirmation that this song is for the video game, the coincidence between the title of the song and the title of IO Interactive’s next release is quite striking.

Along with the speculation, it has been pointed out that this would not be the first time Lana Del Rey has composed a song for something related to James Bond. At the time, the song “24” was considered for SPECTRE, the 24th film in the franchise. At the time, Del Rey commented that she had written the song for the film directed by Sam Mendes, but in the end, it was not selected. “One day maybe, probably not. But I’m going to continue to do my little Nancy Sinatra thing every now and then and just pretend that it’s the title track,” Del Rey commented.
The theme song, an essential part of James Bond
Music has always been one of the most iconic elements of James Bond in his films. From the main theme composed by John Barry to the countless singers and bands that have performed the main theme for each film since Dr. No. Lana del Rey’s case would not be the first, considering that there have been very famous cases of themes that have been composed specifically for James Bond but never made it into the opening credits, from Pulp working on Tomorrow Never Dies, to Radiohead also having a song ready for Spectre.
In video games, 007: First Light would not be the first to have a theme song. Joss Stone sang for 007 Blood Stone, and Mya sang Everything or Nothing from the game of the same name.
