Last Flag confirms its PC release date with a retro take on capture the flag
The competitive 5v5 title will debut first on PC, with console versions arriving later.

After nearly a year since its reveal at Summer Game Fest, Night Street Games has finally confirmed the release date for Last Flag, its distinctive reinterpretation of the classic capture-the-flag mode. The game will launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on April 14, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are scheduled to arrive later this year.
A vision inspired by childhood and retro style
The core premise behind Last Flag stems from a personal motivation shared by its founders, Dan and Mac Reynolds. As they have explained, capture-the-flag modes in contemporary shooters have increasingly shifted toward constant combat-focused dynamics, leaving behind elements such as exploration, escalating tension, and tactical map awareness—key aspects that defined their early gaming experiences.
To recapture that essence, the studio designed a competitive 5v5 shooter set within an eccentric game show inspired by 1970s aesthetics. This framing goes beyond surface-level style: the show’s structure functions as both a narrative and mechanical framework, justifying clear objectives, defined rounds, and dynamic progression centered on territorial control.
Players take on the role of charismatic contestants competing for fame and fortune in fast-paced matches. From a design standpoint, the focus is on accessibility without sacrificing strategic depth. Sessions are optimized to last under 20 minutes, which translates into compact maps, well-defined alternative routes, and scoring systems that reward both tight team coordination and high-impact individual decision-making.

For those who do not want to wait until April, Night Street Games has made an open demo available through March 2. This beta allows players to test the core systems—movement, flag control, and role synergies—while also offering cosmetic rewards that will carry over to the full release.
