Leaked: First details of Apple’s iPhone 17e, the most affordable model

While the American tech giant races to finalize the date for its 2025 Keynote, leakers are keeping busy.

Update:

We’re about a month away (the exact date hasn’t been set yet) from Apple’s annual Keynote, the event where the company unveils its latest products. This year, unsurprisingly, all eyes are on the iPhone 17 lineup. And, as usual, leaks from China are already surfacing, often hinting at key details ahead of launch. Just days after reports on the iPhone 17 Pro and its price, attention has now shifted to the iPhone 17e.

First, it’s worth noting that the “e” designation refers to Apple’s more affordable tier of devices—much like the former iPhone SE. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 17e is expected to arrive in early 2026, similar to the release timeline of the iPhone 16e. That model launched with a starting price of around $760, so buyers can likely expect a similar price point this time.

As for specs, the iPhone 17e is rumored to feature Apple’s A19 chip, a 6.1-inch OLED display, and a 48-MP rear camera. The chassis would combine aluminum with a glass back. And unlike the box-shaped notch, this model is expected to sport Apple’s “dynamic island” design.
