LEGO announces Zelda Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild set, and the price tag sends shivers down your spine

LEGO’s The Legend of Zelda set is official, though its hefty price tag will put off many fans. It is a two-for-one of Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild.

Nintendo has taken a liking to collaborating with LEGO, and after the numerous LEGO Super Mario sets, and recently Animal Crossing, it’s time for another of the company’s most beloved and popular franchises: The Legend of Zelda. Both companies have officially announced the collaboration in the form of the new Great Deku Tree set, based on its appearance in Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, so it’s effectively a two-for-one deal.

Here’s what the new LEGO The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree set looks like: price, what it looks like, and when it will be available.

The LEGO The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree set from The Legend of Zelda comes in a whopping 2500 pieces and is a two-for-one as it can be assembled in two ways: as it appears in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) or as it appears in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017). It will be available on September 1, 2024.

As seen in the promotional material, minifigs of Link and Zelda in their Breath of the Wild versions, the funny Hestu from the same game, Link from Ocarina of Time, and mythical items from the saga such as the Master Sword and the Hylian Shield are also included.

Its price, as can be seen on the official website, is $299.99. An undoubtedly high price for the contents of this kit, despite the possibility of having two different configurations and adding different minifigures of characters from the saga. From this price it can be deduced that this is a premium set in the style of Barad-Dúr from ‘The Lord of the Rings’, which costs a whopping $459.99.

One of the most interesting aspects of this LEGO set is that it is a two-for-one set that can be assembled in two different ways: the Ocarina of Time look or the Breath of the Wild look.

In any case, fans of both the Zelda saga and LEGO are in for a treat, as this is the first set from the long-running video game series to be released by the popular toy brand.
