Leonardo DiCaprio wants another Oscar and the first trailer for his new movie makes it clear that he will be one of the contenders
The movie is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and is inspired by ‘Vineland’, the novel by Thomas Pynchon.

To talk about winning an Oscar is a big word, because there are many actors who are successful with their projects, but do not get to win even one statuette in his entire career. Leonardo DiCaprio can boast of having one, and those who say he deserves a few more may have a chance to get their wish, because the first trailer for ‘One Battle After Another’, his new movie, makes it clear that he has his sights set very high.
Variety estimates that the film has a budget of almost 140 million dollars, which would make it Thomas Anderson’s most expensive film, and the first reactions to the trailer have revolutionized the social networks, as it has been very well received. ‘One Battle After Another’ is inspired by ‘Vineland’, the novel by Thomas Pynchon set in the 60s, at the height of the rebel movements, but it will do it from a completely different point of view.
The synopsis of ‘One Battle After Another’ reads as follows: “When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunite to rescue the daughter of one of their own. Leonardo DiCaprio plays one of those revolutionaries who tirelessly searches for his missing daughter. The cast also includes Regina Hall, Chase Infinity, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor and Wood Harris. The film is scheduled for release on September 26, 2025.
