Less than half of all players are ready and able to enter the Elden Ring DLC

With Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree rapidly approaching release, online stats have revealed that many players still haven’t beaten the bosses needed to access the DLC.

It’s been a long wait, but after years of hype and mystery, Elden Ring’s one and only DLC expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is only a few days away from release. And for a couple of months now, FromSoftware has been talking about what players will need to do to actually be able to access the upcoming new content once it actually releases. So it comes as a bit of a surprise to find out that, in reality, over half of the player community is still to defeat one of the two bosses required to enter the Land of Shadows.

As originally shared by streamer and internet personality Cohh Carnage, Steam reveals a disappointing stat about player’s through their achievements: only 37.8% of players on the platform have unlocked the achievement granted after defeating Mogh, Lord of Blood.

“Friendly PSA for all those looking forward to Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree,” said Namco Bandai’s official account in response to the revelation. “You have less than 2 weeks to prepare!” As mentioned before by the studio behind the game, players who want to get into the new content and explore the Land of Shadows and everything it has to offer only have two real barriers they need to surpass: They need to have defeated Starscourge Radahn, and they need to have beaten Mohg, Lord of Blood.

Most players are not ready for the Elden Ring DLC

As it turns out, almost half of the players have defeated Radahn, with even less reaching and beating Mohg in his palace. Just how bad is the situation? Here are the numbers on every platform available:

Percentage of players who have beaten Starscourge Radahn

  • On Steam - 54.5%
  • On PlayStation 5 - 46.6%
  • On Xbox Series X|S - 32.8%

Percentage of players who have beaten Mohg, Lord of Blood

  • On Steam - 38.7%
  • On PlayStation 5 - 34.7%
  • On Xbox Series X|S - 22.8%

If we go by these numbers, the Steam player community is actually ahead of the race, with a a small advantage over the rest of the platforms. On the other hand, Xbox players seem to be a bit unmotivated in their conquest of the Shardbearers in the Lands Between, and have a lot of work to do before they’re able to join every other Tarnished in the search for Miquella.
