LG and Xbox team up to bring cloud gaming to Smart TVs

Users of the latest LG TVs will be able to enjoy a wide selection of popular games through the new Xbox App and Gaming Portal.

LG Electronics and Xbox have announced a partnership to enhance the cloud gaming experience on LG Smart TVs. Through this partnership, users of the latest LG Smart TVs will be able to access hundreds of games through a new Xbox app and the Gaming Portal, an all-in-one solution that provides seamless navigation and extensive game customization.

Some of the titles available include popular games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy. Users will be able to enjoy these games through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which offers an extensive catalog of games in the cloud.

Chris Jo, senior vice president of platform business at LG Media Entertainment Solution, noted that this collaboration aims to enrich the gaming experience on LG TVs by providing a more fluid, functional and immersive gaming experience.

The Gaming Portal, accessible from the home screen, provides an intuitive way for users to discover and enjoy new games. In addition, the webOS interface offers seamless customization and optimization for easy access to content and settings. Through the webOS Re:New program, users can upgrade the operating system of their LG TV every year for five years after purchase.
