LG introduces the era of “Affective Intelligence”: Innovation that understands your emotions

At CES 2026, LG Electronics marked a turning point in the technology industry. Under the leadership of its CEO, Jae Cheol Lyu, the company presented a vision that goes beyond technical power: Affective Intelligence. This concept proposes that artificial intelligence is not just a tool on a screen, but a companion capable of understanding the habits, culture, and even emotions of each family member in order to anticipate their needs.

This year’s big bet is the concept of “Zero Labor Home.” The intention is clear: technology should take care of the most tedious household chores—such as washing clothes, cleaning, or deciding what to cook—so that people can reclaim their time. According to LG, innovation only makes sense when it improves real life in a tangible and accessible way.

How will the domestic robot function in our daily lives?

The star of the show was CloiD, a Smart Home AI Agent. This small robot, equipped with high-precision actuators and fluid movement capabilities, is not just a toy. Floyd functions as the home’s command center, capable of orchestrating all household appliances. Thanks to its contextual awareness, the robot can detect if it has rained and suggest a home exercise routine instead of going for a run, or even prepare the environment by dimming the lights and adjusting the temperature if it detects that the user is tired. This device uses LG Shield technology to ensure that all information collected in the privacy of the home remains encrypted and secure, preventing unauthorized access.

Will AI also make its way into the kitchen and the car?

The update to the LG Signature Series brings intelligence to the heart of the kitchen. The new refrigerator features transparent T-OLED screens and internal cameras that identify food. If you ask it how to store a cut of meat, the AI will recommend the ideal temperature zone and suggest recipes based on the ingredients you already have, even letting you know when the food in the oven is at the perfect point of doneness. Outside the home, the experience moves to the vehicle. LG presented mobility solutions where the windshield becomes a smart canvas. Using augmented reality, the car can display navigation signs directly on the road and allow passengers to interact with their surroundings using gestures, maintaining full connectivity with home services during the journey.
