Life after Arcane: explaining the ending and what to expect from the franchise now

The Arcane finale left more questions than answers for Jinx’ fate and the future of Piltover.

It’s been just two days since the last three episodes of ‘Arcane’ were released. Considered by many one of the best Netflix series, the second season of the show has made the production of Riot Games and Fortiche the most expensive animated series in history. A total of 9 episodes with an approximate duration of 40 minutes where the main plot revolves around the ‘League of Legends’ universe.

The second season of Arcane has left most fans on the brink of collapse. In the final sequence, a devastating explosion occurs in the Hexportal and, in turn, the appearance of an airship creates great confusion. Of course, if we try to look back we will remember that it was present in the first season. It appears at the beginning of ‘Arcane’ and takes on symbolic meaning because Powder (before becoming Jinx) expressed his desire to board one of these flying ships.

Is Jinx alive?

There are numerous theories that neither affirm nor deny Jinx’s possible death. From ‘Arcane’ they wanted to leave an uncertain ending but if we combine several elements from the end of the second season we can dare to say that Jinx is alive. After the explosion of the Hexportal there is a detail that catches the attention of the most attentive, a pinkish ray of light can be seen emerging from the portal just before the detonation. This flash matches the visual trace Jinx leaves when she moves quickly and suggests that the holster could have escaped at the last second.

Another detail that supports Jinx’s survival is the scene in which Caitlyn inspects the Hexportal records and discovers that there are several possible exits. After reacting with a smile, she suggests that someone may have survived and to make matters worse, he finds an intact head of one of Jinx’s iconic exploding monkeys, which seems to be further evidence.

Finally, the presence of the airship. In the past Powder showed his interest in riding one of them and in this way, she could return to close the circle. Jinx could have used the airship to leave Piltover.

What are the next League of Legends spin-offs?

Christian Linke, showrunner and co-creator of Arcane, confirmed in an interview with streamer Necrit that Riot Games is developing three spin-offs set in the ‘League of Legends’ universe. Three different projects are focused on the regions of Ionia, Demacia, and Noxus. Although as he explained, these are long-term planned productions.
