Loki Season 2 is teasing a reunion with Thor, while bringing in new characters into the MCU

Loki Season 2 on Disney+ has already released three episodes with the occasional easter egg for Marvel fans, especially those who are following the MCU and who have some of the comics, especially Thor’s, the brother of Tom Hiddleston’s character, as the show just, introduced a new character from said hero’s pantheon. In addition, they mention Thor again, although in a different way than in the first chapter. And if you saw ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, there will be a scene that you will remember, which can be seen in full during this chapter.

And with everything that happens in relation to the multiverses, Kang the Conqueror continues to do his thing, which he shows in this episode, focusing on the future of Marvel Studios’ Phase 5.

Without going in too deep into the plot of episode 3, Thor is mentioned again, a character who may have once been part of the MCU is introduced, and the importance of the He Who Remains Kang from the first season is confirmed.

A new character debuts in Loki season 2

Before commenting on the new character, we must confirm that in the days after the broadcast of the last episode, the Internet noticed another easter egg, since Kingo (character from ‘Eternals’) appears in one of the film posters that Loki and Mobius walk past.

After that, it should be noted that almost everything that will be explained below can be considered spoilers for Loki Season 2, so it is recommended that you stop reading if you have not seen the episode.

In a certain scene, Loki and Mobius travel to Chicago (1893) in an alternative timeline to the one in which the events of the MCU take place. there, both characters look at some statues, labeled as Odin, Thor (whom Loki says is not that tall) and Balder (a character who was going to be in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, but ended up not appearing).

For those who don’t know Balder, he is a character that appears in Marvel comics, a warrior from Asgard who is the half-brother of Thor, another son of Odin. Balder’s first appearance was in the ‘Journey into Mystery’ #85 comic book, which was published in October 1962.

The scene from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ that appears in episode is the second post-credits scene of the film, in which Loki and Mobius see a variant of Kang, although this time he is presented as Victor Timely, a scientist who comes from Wisconsin (another reference to the character in the comics) and who in the comics is someone of great importance

And another great reference to the comics is at the end of the episode when Miss Minutes and Ravonna Renslayer meet up in front of the deceased He Who Remains from the first season of ‘Loki’, stating that “I had it under control until you sabotaged me and made fools of us,” dialogue referring to what happened in the previous season of the series.
