Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP gets its first trailer and release date
The classic zombie cheerleading beat-em-up, Lollipop Chainsaw, is back in all its glory with the first official trailer for the remaster.
Dragami Games has finally released the first trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, the highly anticipated remaster of the old Suda51 zombie beat-em-up from the Xbox 360 and PS3 era of gaming. And alongside it, we also got a release date for the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam: September 25, 2024.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a remake of the original Lollipop Chainsaw (2012), on which Yoshimi Yasuda lead development as producer. RePOP is a definitive version of the game which leaves the story unchanged, with the focus on quality-of-life improvements and additional gameplay content.
In the trailer above you can see what the game is all about: fighting zombies as Juliet, a high-school cheerleader who’s also part of a zombie-hunting family, fighting against an invasion brought upon by a gang of supernatural classmates. It’s the kind of insane premise that used to be at the forefront of the video game industry back when the game released in 2012, unhinged and experimental.
Pre-orders will be available at a later date, but Dragami games has already confirmed that a physical edition will be released worldwide. As such, it’s almost a given that there will be some sort of Collectors or Deluxe edition, although no other details have been shared so far.
