Update:

Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm since Disney bought the company 14 years ago, is stepping down from her leadership role at the company founded by George Lucas. The studio responsible for Star Wars and Indiana Jones has begun the transition and named her successors. Dave Filoni, the creative mind behind ‘The Clone Wars’ and ‘Rebels,’ will be president and chief creative officer, while Lynwen Brennan will serve as co-president.

Kennedy will continue to be involved with the Star Wars saga, returning to her role as producer and overseeing future projects, including ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ and ‘Star Wars: Starfighter.’

“My love of storytelling was shaped by the films of Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas. I never dreamed I would be privileged to learn the craft of filmmaking from both of them,” said Filoni. “From Rey to Grogu, Kathy has overseen the greatest expansion in Star Wars storytelling onscreen that we have ever seen. I am incredibly grateful to Kathy, George, Bob Iger, and Alan Bergman for their trust and the opportunity to lead Lucasfilm in this new role, doing a job I truly love. May the Force be with you.”
