Update:

Good news for fans of spooky-season gaming: the original Luigi’s Mansion will be added to the Nintendo Classics service on the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 30, perfectly timing its arrival for Halloween. This addition marks a significant milestone, as it means all three main Luigi’s Mansion titles are now playable on a single console for the first time, offering players a comprehensive experience of the series.

The game is the classic 2001 GameCube launch title, where Luigi must explore a haunted mansion to rescue his brother, Mario. To face the spectral inhabitants, players wield the iconic Poltergust 3000, a specialized vacuum cleaner that allows Luigi to stun and literally suck up the ghosts he encounters.

GameCube library continues to grow

Luigi’s Mansion becomes the sixth title in the GameCube library for the Switch 2’s Nintendo Classics service, joining other fan favorites like F-Zero GX, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, SoulCalibur 2, Super Mario Strikers, and Chibi-Robo. Players who subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass can access this growing library of GameCube, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Mega Drive / Genesis titles.

This premium subscription tier costs $49.99 per year. The standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription, which offers NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games, is available for $19.99 for a 12-month membership.
