Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2024 to feature new Dragon Ball and Spider-Man balloons

We also expect Luffy to finish the ride this time.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2024 to feature new Dragon Ball and Spider-Man balloons

This Thursday, everything is in place for you to spend a wonderful evening with your family and enjoy Thanksgiving Day (just before Black Friday madness begins). As part of the festivities, the traditional Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has unveiled the characters that will be participating this year, including two new balloons that are sure to be a sensation.

New versions of Spider-Man and Goku hit the streets of New York City

For the occasion, two of the most important figures in popular culture, Spider-Man and Goku, will participate in the parade with completely redesigned balloons. Spider-Man, for his part, will “swing” through the streets of his New York for the first time in more than a decade. This edition will feature the character’s style as drawn by one of the great comic book legends, John Romita Sr.

Goku, for his part, is back in his friendliest mode. The Saiyan had already debuted in 2018 with his Super Saiyan Blue mode, but this time he leaves the transformations aside to fly and greet viewers on the streets of New York and TV. A tribute to the 40 years of Dragon Ball in our lives.

In addition to the two aforementioned balloons, the return of Pikachu and Eevee in their Poké Ball-inspired sleigh has been confirmed. Also returning to settle the score is Monkey D. Luffy, who made his debut in last year’s parade but was blocked by tree branches from making it to the end of the parade. Who would have thought that tree branches would be one of the great natural fears for a Devil Fruit user (besides the sea).

They are joined by other great pop culture characters of all time, from the classic Beagle Scout Snoopy and a new Minnie Mouse to the beloved Bluey and Po from Kung Fu Panda and Stuart from The Minions.

The traditional parade will take place this Thursday, November 28, with coverage from 8:30 a.m. to noon ET on NBC and Peacock.
