Mahershala Ali shares his excitement for the way the Blade film is headed

The Blade star is showing optimism with the way the production is going in Marvel Studios, with the Dhampir’s debut on the MCU getting closer.

Update:
Mahershala Ali shares his excitement for the way the Blade film is headed

One of the most affected Marvel films by the strikes of writers and actors in Hollywood, which had a happy ending, is ‘Blade’, with Mahershala Ali as the half-vampire hero. So much so that the rumors suggested that its future looked so bad that it was not even 100% ruled out that Wesley Snipes would return, the actor who first brought the character to life. However, Ali has spoken about the project again, and seems really optimistic.

“We’re working on it”, Ali said to ComicBookMovie, which is more than can be said from other superhero related projects. “That’s the best I could tell you. I’m really encouraged with the direction of the project. I think we’ll be back at it relatively soon.”

“I’m sincerely encouraged in terms of where things are at and who’s on board and who’s leading the way as far as the writing of the script and the directing and all that,” he continued. “So that’s the extent of what I can tell you.”

It’s not much for now, but it’s nothing more than a sign that Ali is fully involved in ‘Blade’, a project that looked pretty troubled at the time. It will be the character’s debut in the MCU, after three worthy films starring Snipes, and in which actors and actresses such as Kris Kristofferson, Stephen Dorff, Norman Reedus, Jessica Biel and even Ryan Reynolds, among others, also participated.

Blade also returns to video games

After his appearance in the fantastic Marvel Midnight Suns as one of the many playable characters, the dhampir will finally be the protagonist of his own video game. It was announced at The Game Awards 2023, and is being developed by Arkane Lyon, responsible for games of the caliber of Dishonored, Dishonored 2, and Deathloop, although unlike these, it will be in the third person. Dinga Bakaba, director of the studio, has asked for time for its development. “Let us cook,” Bakaba said, making it clear that it is a project for which there is still a lot of development time.
