Many YouTube channels complain about a major problem, and now YouTube itself believes it has found the cause
Those responsible for many large channels on Google’s video platform have complained about a drastic drop in viewership.

YouTube, Google’s popular video platform, is going through turbulent times. So much so that complaints from major content creators about drastic drops in viewership have once again made headlines, and YouTube has already offered a clear response: the popularity of ad blockers is to blame. The Josh Strife Hayes channel has reported that, in recent times, the percentage of visits from users with Smart TVs, smartphones, and tablets has remained the same, but there has been a significant drop in views from users who use computers.
YouTube targets ad blockers
The TechLinked channel reached the same conclusion, reporting a significant drop in views from computers. Now, through a support forum, a YouTube representative has confirmed that there may have been a recent decline in visits, allegedly due to the use of ad blockers by the users in question.
Ad blockers and other extensions can affect the accuracy of YouTube’s user count. Channels with a higher proportion of users who use such tools may experience greater fluctuations in traffic related to updates to these tools. Therefore, YouTube attributes the decline in traffic, among other things, to the use of ad blockers, something that Google’s video platform has been fighting against for some time.

However, in another recent video, Linus Sebastian from TechLinked also stated that advertising revenue from his channels has not decreased, despite the decline in view counts. In the support forum, YouTube also mentioned other possible reasons for the decline in traffic. These could include seasonal fluctuations or the normalization of view counts after a temporary spike that was not recognized by the content creators of the affected channels themselves.
