Marvel celebrates its 85th anniversary with an Excelsior! trailer featuring signatures from the 2025 films and series

An exhilarating celebration of the journey Marvel has been on all these years, and the journey we’ve all been on together.

Exciting. That’s the word, or maybe just one of many, that comes to mind when watching the video celebrating Marvel’s 85th anniversary. Because at some point in our lives, we have all enjoyed this universe.

Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, those ‘60s, where the world of Superman would see the birth of more human, vulnerable, intimate heroes. And that was the key. We went from admiring demigods to sharing everyday problems. Spider-Man struggling to make ends meet, The Fantastic 4 with the typical struggles of a normal family, The Thing, sad and feared, hiding a sensitive heart under his rock-gray chest, X-Men united against the hatred of a society that does not understand and fears them?

Celebrate 85 years of Marvel with a tear in your eye and new signings for 2025!

The commemorative video is only two and a half minutes long, and there are no more incredible moments, iconic images, lines that go straight to the heart. And we have Stan Lee saying that he couldn’t choose a favorite character because it would be like choosing one of your children, images that yearn for Black Panther, for the fight against Thanos, for the cartoons we watched on TV, for the comics we read as kids during the long naps of those endless summers.

“The House of Ideas is called that for a reason,” “Marvel is this massive canvas through which all of our humanity is explored,” “Here you have the chance to be a part of something much bigger than yourself,” “The storytelling reaches to the hearts of various age ranges and cultures,” “Symbols are nothing without the women and men who give them meaning,” “I’ve always tried to do stories that the characters have human qualities anybody can relate to.”....

The video also welcomes the new additions, from Deadpool to the X-Men to Red Hulk to the Thunderbolts*. As one image says at one point: This is just the beginning.
