Marvel Maximum Collection now has a release date, and details about the physical edition have been revealed
Konami’s retro compilation includes arcade hits, console versions, and modern quality-of-life features.

Konami’s collection of classic games based on Marvel Comics characters, the Marvel Maximum Collection, now has a release date and will arrive sooner than you expected. This collection features six classic titles that were released in the early 1990s for both arcade machines and home consoles, highlighting the role of two of Marvel Comics’ most iconic series: the X-Men and Spider-Man. This six-title collection is just a couple of weeks away, launching on March 27.
Which titles are included in the Marvel Maximum Collection?
The titles included in this collection are as follows:
- X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
- Captain America and The Avengers (Arcade, Sega Genesis, NES)
- Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage (Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis)
- Spider-Man/Venom: Separation Anxiety (Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis)
- Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge (Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear)
- Silver Surfer (NES)
To make these retro games more accessible, the developers have integrated several “Quality of Life” improvements. Players can now utilize Save States and a Rewind feature, which are perfect for overcoming the notoriously difficult boss fights of the past. Additionally, the collection includes an Archive filled with original box art and manuals, a Music Player for those classic chip-tune scores, and even a Cheat menu for those who want to feel truly invincible.
A physical edition is on the way
In addition, Limited Run Games announced that, in partnership with Marvel Games and Konami, it will release this collection in physical format for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series. Pre-orders will begin on March 27 and run through May 24. This version will include the following items:
- Foil Cover Sheet
- Manual
- Sprites Sticker Sheet
